Amsterdam/Wels, 29 February 2016.

Kraftwerk Living Technologies, international Big Player in the field of audio-visual system integration headquartered in Wels, was honored with the InAVation Award in the category “International Project” early February. The prize-winning project is the world’s largest 4D Theater, which had been realized over a period of several months by the experts from Wels and was opened in the summer of 2015 in the Chinese theme park Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai.

5D Castle Theater at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom

“It was our aim to create a cutting-edge 4D experience that surpasses any existing experience by its size and quality, following the credo: Go big and be unforgettable,” Manfred Meier, Managing Partner and CEO at Kraftwerk Living Technologies states about the vision behind the project. The result is worth taking a look at: At the moment, the visitor attraction officially called 5D Castle Theater holds two Guinness World Records for the largest permanent projection screen as well as the largest 3D projection, which has been realized with 12 Christie 4K projectors. Also the sound excites: A total of 2119 Meyer Sound loudspeakers – from large speaker arrays and subwoofers to in-seat stereo – make the sound system of the 5D Castle Theater at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom the world’s largest cinema audio system and ensure an even more intensive experience. For the video playback, making sure that the projectors are perfectly aligned, as well as the Show Control, linking the hardware and the light, audio and special effects to one synchronous system, the high-tech forge Brainsalt Media from Linz, Austria was the expert on board. Per show, a total of 1000 visitors can take their seat in the theater and experience the four-dimensional attraction with moving seats and special effects such as vibration, air and water blasts, leg ticklers and many more.

The “Oscars of the AV Industry“

As part of the Integrated Systems Europe, the largest exhibition for professional AV system integration in Europe, the coveted InAVation Awards, powered by InAVate Magazine and the ISE 2016, were presented on February 9th. With this accolade, outstanding technologies as well as projects in the global AV industry are honored in a total of 22 categories. In front of over 600 invited experts from the global industry, the lucky winners were announced – in festive setting of the distinctive event location Gashouder in Amsterdam. The 5D Castle Theater by Kraftwerk Living Technologies was one of them, being honored as the “Most InAVative International Project”. Christian Hofer, Managing Partner and Technical Director at Kraftwerk Living Technologies, accepted the award on behalf of the team and expressed his delight: “We are very proud and happy to receive this award and would like to share it with all colleagues and partners who have been part of this record-breaking project.”

Already in December 2015, the nominated technologies and projects were announced. While the winners of the technology awards are determined in a public voting prior to the Award Gala every year, the winning projects are selected by an expert jury from the global AV industry.
