2019 | Reykjavik (IS)FlyOver Iceland: Flying Theater Attraction

FlyOver Iceland is the latest flying theater experience by Pursuit, which opened its doors to the public on August 30, 2019. The state-of-the-art attraction provides guests with an exciting flight simulation over some of the country’s most iconic natural wonders, hard to reach locations and picturesque scenery. Kraftwerk Living Technologies was responsible for the high-quality audiovisual system, the show control as well as the screen installation.

About the experience

Prior to the FlyOver experience, the attraction features a stunning pre-show that explores the roles of nature, time and humankind on the island, featuring volcanoes, glaciers, Vikings, trolls and more. Moment Factory designed these multi-sensory spaces, working closely with FlyOver Iceland’s creative director Rick Rothschild, creating a unique introduction and first taste of what awaits the guests next.

The flight ride features a ride system with six degrees of motion, multi-sensory special effects and a 20-meter spherical screen that provides guests with an unparalleled flight across Iceland. Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, together with the ride’s smooth motion and impressive real-life visuals, create an unforgettable experience, allowing guests to be carried away on a breathtaking journey.

The attraction is the first flight ride experience in Iceland and is already in second place in TripAdvisor’s “Things to do in Reykjavik” ranking.
